Imitation Designer Brands

Melissa talks about her interest in flea markets here.
Below, listen to a comedian talk about growing up poor in LA:

We were poor when I was growing up. I mean, my mom never bought me nice clothes at Dillards or Macys. My mom used to buy all my clothes at the flea market and I hated that because I always got imitation designer clothes you know. Like instead of Polo, my mom got me Pollo. Have you ever seen a Pollo shirt bro, you know what it is? It's a little emblem of a chicken riding a horse holding a mallet, you know!

LANGUAGE FOCUS:
Imitation = fake; not real
Pollo = Pronounced /poi-yo/: the Spanish word for chicken. A majority of Americans know a few basic words of Spanish, pollo is one of them.
